Goodwood Revival 2022

The 2022 Revival was another busy weekend for CTL with the team taking an amazing nine cars to Goodwood. Over the three days, five were raced (Types 16, 18, 21, 24 & 25), and four were featured in Marque displays (the Chapman family Austin Seven in the Austin feature, and Types 12, 57 & 49in the Graham Hill celebration).

Clive drove the Type 49 in the Graham Hill tribute (above) and the Austin Seven that was given to ACBC by the co-directors of Lotus in 1968 when Lotus Cars went public, was driven by Clive and Chris Dinnage in the Austin Cenetenery Celebration parade laps.

The Glover trophy race saw Types 25, 24 and 21 driven by Andy Middlehurst, Andrew Beaumont and Dan Collins respectively.

The revised race schedule for the weekend saw the Glover Trophy held on Saturday this year. Andy took another superb win for owner John Bowers in R4 (above), as ever, ably supported by crew chief on the 25, Lewis Cullington. John is pictured here in the Goodwood paddock watching over the type 25 with Ex-Team Lotus mechanic Cedric Selzer.

Andrew and Dan both ran well in Saturday's Glover trophy, but on Sunday Andrew put in a fantastic performance to finish the Richmond & Gordon Trophy race in a fantastic third place. Clive Chapman was on the pit wall to perfectly capture the moment Andrew crossed the line to applause from the team.

In a fitting tribute to CTL team driver and supporter Simon Diffey who was always a huge part of the Goodwood weekend, Type 18/915 proudly carried a 'Diff' sticker on the nose.

Long term patron of CTL Joaquin Folch also ran in the Richmond & Gordon trophy race. Despite a few minor gear selection issues, he drove the recently restored, and truly magnificent looking, front-engined chassis 16-365 to a solid race finish.
